HILSEA JUBILEE SPLASHPOOL OPENS

The brand new splashpool next to Hilsea Lido was opened by the Lord of Portsmouth and local  councillor Frank Jonas in June.
The design, based on the popular Southsea splashpool, was supposed to open last year, but problems with the construction, meant it was not ready until the end of May.  The new  facility has been created for children of eight years or under, with a new and exciting design and cost £332,000.

Cllr Alistair Thompson said, “This is a fabulous facility, which I am sure will prove a great hit with   parents and children alike. What a pity this was not launched last year.”
The new splashpool and will be run by Hilsea Lido Pool for the People Trust, whose aim it was to bring the Lido back into use.
